Show Your Support to the Garden that “Gives Back” by Donating Today
In two years, this amazing “little garden” has grown to be a very “big contributor” in the fight against poverty and hunger in our community. Our Giving Garden continues to grow through its volunteers and their collective efforts, but they need your help!
Since 2017 Our Giving Garden located on Copper Lake Rd in Mableton, has donated nearly 1800 pounds of organic produce to food pantries, housed 8 families in a home located on the property and helped to change the lives of many in need. With the intention of continuing their good works, and expanding their reach, Our Giving Garden is planning to purchase the property from Vinings Lake Church, its current owner, who has indicated the need to sell. The garden is driven by a dedicated core group of 25 volunteers but has also been blessed with the help of hundreds of giving hands in its brief 2-year existence.
Judy Byler, one of the founding volunteers, describes the group with pride,
“ We are truly a grass roots organization driven solely by volunteers. With the help of the community that we love, we plan to continue our mission of interrupting poverty through our environmental and sustainable practices, free educational programs, special events and providing a much needed green space in the community.”
Our Giving Garden is actively seeking donations to help them reach their down payment goal of $53,000 for the land and the property where they are located. An anonymous donor has agreed to match up to $15,000 in donations during February to assist them with their target. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to keep the spirit of giving and fellowship of Our Giving Garden alive. A PayPal giving fund has been set up www.paypal.com/fundraiser/charity/3286825. Monthly donations can also be made by visiting their website www.OurGivingGarden.org.
No donation is too small, and all gifts are appreciated.
